HARD BARD Cardenio
Cardenio | Directed by Tony Driscoll
Cardenio has closed! Thank you to all that attended and made this show a hit.
This show ran in November 2012 at the Center Theatre at Seattle Center (formerly the Center House Theatre)
GreenStage's 2012 "Hard Bard" production is Cardenio, by Shakespeare (with a little help from his friends... his dead friends.) Directed by Tony Driscoll.
It's a very grave love story - A Tyrant's cold blooded scheme to attain love is stalled when the Lady he longs for makes a grave attempt to escape his lustful desires. Gruesome and absurd acts of revenge, murder, suicide, lust, grave robbing, and necrophilia, make this romantic tragedy a Hard Bard experience you will never forget.
Scholars continue to debate whether Cardenio is the work of Shakespeare (and John Fletcher) or Thomas Middleton, but one thing is certain: THERE WILL BE BLOOD.
